Artist's Statement

My childhood in the tropics is without doubt at the root of my creativity, and whatever my palette, I strive for depth and richness in my colours. My most successful paintings are those with clear textural elements.

The Natural World with its light, flora and fauna is a huge inspiration, but painting expressive faces is something I’m always drawn back to. I think I’m essentially recreating the landscape of my childhood through my art.
