My love for the medium of photography pre-dates the digital era. I have my own darkroom for printing both Black+White and Colour (from slides). When printing photographs one not only has the opportunity of being creative during the taking of the photograph, but also the ability to modify the image during printing. In the darkroom I created a variety of original styles.

Digital photography opens up infinitely more possibilities for post-image collection manipulation, and that excites me. My manipulations may use Photoshop filters, but also I photomontage images together to follow the action through a sequence.

At present, I’m working on a range of different photographic projects. The "Nature in action" series portrays movement and behaviour in natural subjects. I like to use an extra dimension in this 2D work, often Time, as in depicting the flight action of birds through photomontaging or using slow shutter speeds. "Plant extracts" uses computer manipulation to abstract images of flowers so enhancing their natural textural elements. "Nightscapes" depict either the movement of the heavens with time-lapse night photography, or shows landscapes taken after sunset and before dawn, or a mixture of both. And finally, I’m working on a project imaging ancient standing stones and monuments and other archaeological sites. Some of my images are available as limited edition, archival giclée prints (mounted only or mounted+framed).
