Artist's Statement

I hate writing stuff about myself. Art speaks for itself, does it not? Well, I started doing henna body art in 1998. Since then, the traditional Indian and middle eastern aesthetic has been a huge influence in the darker imagry I've always been drawn to.

I found that the beautiful and intricate henna designs took on a whole new life when painted against the rich and jewel bright colors often present in Middle Eastern design.

However, it's never long before the little Wednesday Adams that lives inside me takes starts to draw little bats inside of flower petals!
