Artist's Statement

When I consider what it means to be able to put what I see down on canvas...I remember what it was like the first time I picked up a paintbrush and the joy I felt in being able to create the things I saw, on the blank surface. Once I was able to find resources to enable me to master the basic techniques and concepts of oil painting, I was then free to reveal my own style and interpretation.

My work consists of original & commissioned oil paintings, with the focus on emphasizing color, texture, and form...thereby enhancing the natural beauty of the subject. I truly believe that an integral part of being able to express your own vision, is the ability to put your own version down on canvas…or some other medium of artistic expression.
