Artist's Statement

I work in two media: drawing and watercolor. Watercolor has been my main medium. While I've always drawn, for years, drawing has been merely a step in the watercolor process. I'm now revisiting graphite on paper as a medium in its own right. While I love the color and depth that watercolors offer, I'm finding graphite to be very rewarding too. It's very expressive and the fact that it can be done anywhere, virtually on a moment's notice allows a freedom that's difficult to match.
