Artist’s Biography
Evette Maralyn Forde


She is an Entrepreneur, Writer, Artist, Activist, Poet, and came from a family of nine. She attended Tunapuna Roman Catholic Girls Elementary, San Juan Secondary schools and The John Donaldson Technical Institution Trinidad and Tobago W.I .,where she studied Lithography. She attended Walt Whitman’s High School, Northern Virginia College and Prince George’s College Maryland USA.

Her dedication and love for reading, education and learning compelled her to join Toronto’s Public Library and Literacy America and give service to Adult and Children enrolled in The Leading to Reading and Home Help Programs to help them develop reading and comprehension skills. She joined Scarborough Arts Council in 2003. Thanks to the efforts of Scarborough’s Art Council and Toronto’s Public Library. They were instrumental in featuring her work in an exhibition at Cliffside’s Public Library and Malvern’s Public Library Scarborough Toronto. She donated several of pieces to the Morningside branch of Toronto’s Public Library. One of her pieces is also at the Recreation Centre on Lawrence Ave. East Scarborough Ontario Toronto. Several of her pieces were sold to Home Life Romano Reality Ltd Brokerage in Scarborough Ontario Toronto and several car dealers.
She is active in a variety of civic and cultural organizations including Pro Literary America. Pro Literacy it’s an international nonprofit organization based in Syracuse, N.Y., that supports people and programs that help adults learn to read and write. Pro Literacy is the largest adult literacy and basic education membership organization in the USA. She was a Notre Public for the State of Maryland. A member of Toronto’s Public Library and Scarborough Arts Council Toronto., she is and an Activist for Art and Education.

Outside of her processional interests, she travels widely, reads, and writes, take walks with her dog in the woods and on the beach. She enjoys living in the city of Toronto with her family and dog. An important aspect of her life is her family -- her three children, two daughters, one son, and two grandsons one’s a gourmet cook and the other a white water rafting champion player.
