Artist's Statement

My primary motivation for painting is color. It is my greatest fascination in life. My paintings are always bright, clean and fresh. The ways I achieve the subtleties of color are a combination of dozens of layers of gentle washes and a unique palette selection that makes creative mixing necessary. I prefer transparent, single pigments and I do not own tubes of any blacks, browns, grays or rust colors, I mix all of them from a juicy, intense "bubblegum" color selection.
