Desert Series:Desert Series is a continuity of Sahara Series, which were exhibited at the Museum of Asian Art, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. The exhibition was held from 25 February to 25 March 2011. Desert Series have never been exhibited in any exhibitions before. This series is my personal experience during my visit to the Sahara Desert, South Tunisia, 2010. I have used my personal experience to interpret my feelings and expressions onto the canvas. My ideas and concepts are based on exploration and exploitation of forms creating abstract expression arts. Colour of the earth of Sahara Desert, architecture, human activities and its people were my inspiration. The environment and weather also affected my mood and feelings simultaneously affecting my choice of colours used for the paintings. Desert Series are much more spontaneous in its action. Brush strokes are strong, heavy and energetic. In some areas the surface are flat, as to give breathing space to the painting. The composition often shows my mixed emotion of the contrast characteristics. The same as the Sahara Desert; the heat at high temperature is cooled off by green patches of palms and small plantations. Desert Series narrates my journey and emotions through splash of colours onto the canvas.
