My work urges the viewer to perceive conceptual art as part of a reactive or, at times, an artistic dialect, commenting on subjugating themes in our contemporary society. By rejecting objective truth and global cultural narratives, I touch upon various overlapping themes. My work has always assembled many characteristics of visionary, fantasy and sci-fi, often with a touch of whimsical. Several reoccurring topics and themes can be identified throughout my work, like putting popular culture in direct interaction with the antiquated. Experimenting with visual concepts using traditional and digital means, I find myself immersed in the realm of psychology and mystique, which to me are one and the same, in much the same way as meditation and prayer eventually lead to psychological and spiritual experiences that transform oneself into a new enigmatic paradox. My inspirations are first and foremost everything I see, sense and experience. Art Deco, pop-culture and film noir are amongst my major influences. I hope you enjoy my gallery.
