Artist's Statement

Since graduating with a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver I have lived abroad, hoping from country to country with my computer on my back. I have been working digitally for lack of a permanent workspace, doing personal and freelance illustration along the way. Recently I have set up base and begun working on large format pen and ink illustrations. My work is surreal and often deals with conflicting themes of the beauty in nature and the horrors of nightmares, politics and dark recesses. I am fed by pop culture and take influences from everywhere. Art is my passion, it is what keeps me sane and give my life purpose. It surprises me and leads me to feverishly continue to create, evolve, and explore.
