Artist's Statement

Sketches and painting art is a means of expression for recording events or an object and be done directly at the site in a short time. Sketch to be effective and unique Visual Art as a medium for storytelling as travel notes.
Fourteen years (1999-2013) and Over Two Thousand sketch of this exploration area in western Borneo, record scratches sketches directly with events Culture, Tradition community, Panorama Nature in the Heart of Borneo and Banda Aceh.

Zul MS is an artis that transmit his passion through his paints and sketches from Kalimantan Barat (West Borneo), Indonesia. After get graduated in Arts at the Indonesian Institute of Art in Yogjakarta (1991-1998) start to explore the Indonesian Borneo (Kalimantan) to discover the traditional cultures and amazing nature that inspire his work. Since 1998 until now still discovering new points of view of his palace. In 1999 start to illustrate different local newspapers ; Suaka, Equator, Borneo Tribune and Harian Rakyat Kalbar. Also since 2001 worked as an illustrator for some NGO ; Riak Bumi, WWF, YSDK, Walhi..
In 2008 founded the first art gallery in Kalimantan Barat (Indonesian West Borneo) called Borneo Fine Art Gallery
