Artist's Statement
I am a full time professional artist specializing in but not limited to oil paintings. I also work in watercolor and pastel. I choose the medium according to the subject matter at hand, weighing the end look and feel of say watercolor versus oil. My true passion is color theory and design and how compositions can play an emotional role in the viewer. Art has always been a passion of mine. I knew from a very early age that art was going to be a strong influence in my life and that I wanted to know as much about art as I could possibly learn. I still strive to learn something new every day. It takes practice and patience to be a full time artist and I am finally able to devote one hundred percent of my professional life to my studio work. After many years working in commercial art, making a living as a graphic artist for Lockheed Martin in New Jersey, I finally opened my art studio to the dedication of purely fine art. As a child I had art instruction and though I do not have a formal degree, I later trained as a graphic artist at Graphic Design of Delaware Valley (GADV) and the Art Institute of Philadelphia. I have attended numerous workshops and studied fine art under Robert Spriggle and Juanita Crosby of New Jersey – you could say I am self-taught with a lot of instruction. It is invigorating to be around people with that same passion to learning and exploring the creative and problem solving side of your personality. The people who share this passion greatly influence your thought patterns about your art work. I love animals and flowers and nature itself. I hope that the collectors of my work can be touched in some way to Stop and Smell the Roses for a moment and reflect on the joy and beauty that has been given to us each day. I have 2 studios. My primary studio is in Bucks County, PA. I also live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland part of the year. I consider myself blessed to be surrounded by such a variety of nature. The wetlands of the Eastern Shore are reflected in much of my work. The natural beauty of both areas keeps me in subject matter. As an artist, I don’t confine myself to any one subject but prefer to stretch myself, doing cityscenes, landscapes, pet portraits, floral, waterscapes and more.

Member: Oil Painters of America Society My background is in graphic and web design and after being employed by a large corporation for 30 years as a graphic artist I am pleased to be back working full time at my first love, painting. My work is executed primarily in oil but I do work in watercolor and pastel. I have many interests and prefer to paint a variety of subject matter, including scenes from the Eastern Shore of Maryland where I spend much of my time in the summer. My studio is located in Bucks County, PA. Currently, I am concentrating on Bucks County, PA scenes. I am fortunately to live in two beautiful areas: one on the Chesapeake Bay and my primary residence here in historical Bucks County. I attended the Phila. Art Institute and GADV (Graphic Arts of Deleware Valley). Studied under Robert Spriggle and Jaunita Crosby, both prominent fine artists located in Southern New Jersey. On the graphic design side (though not my focus on this site) I am Adobe Certified in Illustrator and Photoshop software. I hope you see something here that you'll find a special place for in your home or office, or that you'll give as a gift. I stay quite busy in my studio so please check this site often to see the latest work. I do have original works for sale. Please look on the right hand column of the artwork page and if the original is for sale it will be stated. Feel free to send me an email. Commissions are welcomed. I work from good quality photos. Do not hesitate to email me with any questions. Please do not download or copy any of my work.
