SYMMETRY
The idea of perfection has always been for me an enemy to fight against.
“No one is perfect”… who says so?
I am.
I am perfect, or rather, whatever I produce is perfect. Everything I make must be perfect.
After living an entire life with this thought, one either goes mad or succumbs.
It is difficult to be perfect and it is difficult even to come close to perfection.
Well then let’s see if I can at least find a method to come as close as possibile to perfection.

In the past, I was teased and ridiculed for my obsession with symmetry.
I replied that by creating symmetry, I could make everything that I photograph become beautiful.
Let us see if this is true.
Hello. My name is Alessio Cocchi. I am a photographer for passion, principle and fame.
My nose is crooked, one of my eyes is slightly smaller than the other and one arm, the right one, a bit longer than the left. I am not symmetrical.
No one is symmetrical just as no one is perfect.
I know that syllogisms are not popular anymore but since they also are symmetrical, I use them very often.
Consider these: Anna, oro, amore roma, and even ossesso. Yes, I am even obsessed with palindromes.
I began to see my photography as if it were a syllogism, a palindrome, seeking perfection.
Then I came to the realization that perfection does not always mean beauty. Though not necessarily beautiful, perfection does make things interesting, strange.
Speaking of strange: how many times has someone said to me “You certainly are STRANGE”.
Well, I’ve always interpreted this to mean “INTERESTING”.
So here is my book, a book of palindrome photos. Interesting.
