Artist's Statement

Akan David is my name. I'm an Artist currently residing in West Africa. My works of art thrives mainly on Cultural, spiritual and psychological issues. In my works of art I deconstruct African idioms, cosmic philosophies, mythological tales and folklores. Having engaged in diverse subjects as poetry, symbology, psychology and new age movement, my works of art carries familiar visual signs, labyrinth of codes and I arrange them into new conceptual layered pieces. my body of art work spans a variety of forms including painting, illustration, installation art, visionary art and performance art. I'm a free thinker.
