Artist's Statement

Colour and form are important to my work and I like to experiment with different styles and subjects, both contemporary and abstract. I love flora and fauna as well as our big fenland skies, wide variety of landscape, seascapes in fact nature in all its forms!
Much of my work is developed from photographs I have taken, which I like to digitally manipulate and collage for different effects before sketching and putting brush to canvas.
Many artists have influenced me including Kurt Jackson and the Cornish School, Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keefe, Lucien Freud, Jackson Pollock,......
