Artist's Statement

When I started out on my creative life journey I decided that I wanted my art to focus on inspiring positive values. I wanted my art to inspire and uplift in a world that tries to focus too heavily on the negative - making you feel that there is nothing positive to say. Far from it - the human psyche has the ability to transcend the negativity thrust into our lives and cultivate that all important feeling of positivity and happiness. This is not to say there aren't positive things happening in the world - of course there are - but just as important is that inner feeling - no matter what the state of the outside world is.
Many things can bring us positivity and happiness in our lives but all too often the feeling is short-lived. What we need is a lasting connection - a connection from within - a realisation of our place in the grand scheme of life, a connection to the roots of our existence and the development of our Inner Being. There are many avenues to explore and this is what I hope to achieve within my art.

I am a great believer in looking to the natural world for my source of positivity and happiness. I recognise that I am a part of nature - we all are. Our perceived "superiority" over the natural world is unfounded and simply not true. Who are we to play god over that which we are so inextricably connected?

So my art is all about bringing back that natural and spiritual connection. The subject matter of my art is firmly rooted in my desire to recognise the value and positivity of our spirituality and natural roots, our mystical tales and ancient beliefs and our cosmic origins. It is all deeply ingrained in us but somewhere, somehow, over time it has been lost.

When creating my photos I am inspired by landscape, ancient sites,Buddhism to name a few. All have a important role to play in nurturing a sense of ease,a sense of awe and wonder at what we can achieve positively in a seemingly mundane world.

I hope you love my work.
Enjoy the ride.....
