About Steve Cost
I was born 6/16/50 in New York City and raised in Syracuse, New York. I presently reside in El Dorado, Kansas.
I was introduced to the art world in my Junior year by my high school art teacher, George Benedict. Along with George's influence and a very good friend, James Skvarch, I became interested in my visual world. I took drawing and painting classes from George and a great deal of inspiration i was started on my journey.
I moved to south central Kansas and attended The College of Emporia, under the instruction of Helen Eppink and Lloyd Roser. Unfortunately, the College of Emporia was forced out of business in the second semester of my senior year and I transfered to Southwestern College in Winfield Kansas where I finished my degree in Education with a major in Art.
I took my first teaching position at Bluestem High School in Leon, Kansas. From there I taught at Andover Middle School and then Andover High school. I retired from teaching at Circle High School in Townda Kansas and am now teaching part time at Kapaun Mount Carmel Catholic High School in Wichita Kansas.
This has brought me to a life long desire to create my own images. I have secured studio space and have begun my journey to produce my own images. The images found on the following pages are my efforts to create and share my visual world with you........ I hope you enjoy.
