Artist comment about this artwork: "Of all the many breathtaking sites along Lake Como in Northern Italy from Villa Carlotta to Bellagio to a multitude of spectacular private properties this lovely villa and its awesome landscape was my personal favorite The water view from every angle was simply stunning So much so that I had a difficult time deciding on which angle to use for my painting My choice was based on the position of the sun and the impact on the structure and property as well as the imposing faade of the architecture itself Villa Balbianello was built by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini 1725-1796 at the end of the 18th century It is known for its picturesque gardens which exclusively feature flowers and trees the colors of the Italian flag green white and red It has one of the most enchanting views of the lake and surrounding hills The villa has had many owners throughout the centuries It was completely renovated by its last private owner the famed explorer Guido Monzino renowned for climbing Mount Everest in 1973 Currently the villa belongs to FAI the Italian equivalent of the National Trust ".
Art by the Artist Jerry Sauls From Saint Johns, United States

Art and the natural world have been the driving forces that have shaped Jerry’s life and career. Self-taught, Jerry can not remember a time when he wasn’t painting, studying art and the great artists, or developing an affinity and never-ending infatuation with the phenomenal beauty of nature.

Since the early eighties, Jerry has been exhibiting and selling his artwork, gaining both success and recognition as his work became known. In July of 1999, this success finally enabled him to leave his job as a Computer Applications Manager and Systems Analyst, and devote himself full time to his artistic career. His first task was to build a home to accommodate his lifestyle, with a studio and gallery to exhibit his work. Next, Jerry used his experience in the field of information systems technology to design and develop a website to promote his work (

Always seeking inspiration and development of his skills, Jerry has traveled extensively. His work includes studies from the Hawaiian Islands, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Alaska and America.

Collectors of Jerry Sauls’ work appreciate the fine detail, perspective and imaginative use of light simulation with which he portrays an innate understanding of his chosen subjects.
