Abstract Expressionism
I was born December 21, 1974 in Flint Michigan. I have been painting for a little over 10 years consistently. I had taken one painting class in the 9th grade and then hadn’t thought about painting. Then one morning , sometime in the spring of 2000,while flipping through channels on television I came across Bob Ross on PBS. I was amazed at how a blank canvas became a work of art in 30 minutes. For the next few weeks I made sure to wake up every Saturday morning to watch Bob Ross on PBS.
I began painting using oil and a poster board instead of canvas because I wasn’t sure if this was something I wanted to invest in. Soon I realized that it was a hobby that I had grown fond of and advanced to using canvas. Watching Bob Ross is probably one of the reasons I do landscapes. I also love the nature and feel that a good landscape painting is one that you can imagine yourself in, this is the feeling I get when I have signed one of my works. Since then I have expanded my artworks challenging myself to create and sometimes recreate photos or things that I am drawn to. Most of my abstract art portrays various strokes and colors that I randomly chose most of the time. My choice of mediums has also evolved from just oils to using acrylics and at times combining the two. In everyone of my paintings I provide the viewer a glimpse into my world told thru art.
