Artist comment about this artwork: "The artwork Lateral vertebra is part of a profoundly abstract period of my painting I think quoting Marcel Brion would essentialize at its best the origins of this work The figure is a support but it is at the same time a limit and only by eliberating itself from this limit the abstraction can enter into communion with the sacred and can express without concession to the figure that which is essentially non-figurative ie a state of mind ".
