I love photography. I started shooting before collage. When I transferred to Tennessee Tech for Engineering I found myself in the Photo lab and sidelines of the sporting events as much as I was in class. While at collage I worked with several full time photographers and the local newspapers. They were great and I learned so much about lighting and color. The most important thing I learned was about shadows and how to use dark regions to enhance the subject. Combining Scuba with photography is a challenge but I am working to improve my techniques.
Now I just shoot for fun and really enjoy the computer photo lab and digital imagery. When digital photography came of age it was a whole new world but with the same principles of composition and lighting. My goal is make the audience wonder, is this a photo or a detailed painting. I have heard it referred to as computer painting, and I really like that phrase.
