Born in Baltimore, MD, Sharan moved to the South Florida area where she lived for over 30 years. After her sister died unexpectedly at an early age, she decided to leave behind a bad marriage, lousy job and her dislike for humidity and heat and moved back to Maryland where she met and married her current husband.

She currently lives in Eastern Tennessee with her husband and dog, Lucy.
