Art by the Artist David Flower

History

I started drawing, like most people as a child. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I started drawing in ball point pen. I got interested in ball point because of my brother Ted. By the time I was 15, my brother was already putting out professional quality art work with pen. He started showing me how to do to a few things and let me grow into my own artist. For many years all I did was draw as a hobby. Then, one day I drew the picture "Night Crew". From that point on my art took on a whole new meaning and now I'm at a point where I'd like to share this exquisite art with as many people as I can.

My Background

I was born in the small Alberta town of Edson, in Canada. My father was a logger and he took us out to the bush with him at very young age. In fact, I was 9 years old when he tuaght me how to use an axe, by the time I was 15, I could do just about any of the jobs on my fathers logging crew. It was this up-bringing that gave me such a strong love for the beauty that's all around us. It was this love for the beauty around us that inspired me to draw. I left home when I was 16 and went to try and make it on my own. Well, I can honestly say that life is one hell of a teacher. You can see in certian peices of mine some of those lessons, and although those lessons were hard learned, they have enhanced my art work to a point that I can Now share it with you.
