Abstract Expressionism
Anett Kilen Kennedy was exposed to foreign cultures from an early age and loves to explore the world. This lead her to years abroad: The United States, France, Spain, Switzerland, and about thirty or more countries.
Her main medium is oil and her original artwork has been included in group and solo exhibitions in Norway, France and the United States since 1990. She has a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and French (Monterey, California), a Bachelor of Arts in journalism (Norway) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts cum laude in painting and drawing (Laguna Beach, California).
Her inspiration is as wide ranged as her artwork. She is inspired by Francis Bacon, Richard Diebenkorn, Mark Rothko, Olivier Debré, Knut Rose, Edward Munch and Rembrandt. Expressionism, Baroque and Modernism fused into artwork that shifts back and forth between the figurative and the abstract, - all depending on existential state of mind and mood. A painting is like a visual imprint of the nervous system of the painter, as Francis Bacon once expressed.
