Impressionism
My name is Kristos Raftopoulos, I was born in 1988 and I live in Penticton, British Columbia. I have discovered drawing and painting while I was still in high school. Over the years I have gotten more involved into painting. My favorite subject matter is landscapes; I also paint flowers, wild life and more.
I enjoy taking pictures with my camera on trips capturing nature and other inspiration along the way and I paint on location with a group of artists as well. I paint in my studio to create beautiful works of art recapturing the subject with an emotional response. I like to capture energy and movement in my works.
I have been very fortunate to have studied under such fine artists as Denise Soule, Terry Isaac and Kindire Groves. I have dabbled in pastels, watercolours, oil and acrylics. I also work at the Dragon's Den where I am exposed to a lot of art products and my creativity grows. Painting gives me great joy which is evident in my works. I like to experiment with my paints and tools to come up with various types of effects. I am always learning and growing as an artist, I am blessed to live in a community with so many creative people it’s a beautiful thing. I am an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. I have displayed work around the south Okanagan with other F.C.A members.
