Hello and thanks for stopping by to look at a sampling of my work.
I work primarily as a children’s book illustrator using traditional mediums as well as digital. I also enjoy painting, printmaking and working with wood. Actually, I like taking on almost any artistic endeavor; familiar materials or not.
I was very fortunate to attend the Rhode Island School of Design, starting even before graduating from high school. The educational practices and philosophies gained at RISD inspired me to do more than just art, but to do my part to change society for the better. After finishing college I decided to help create an educational program where all the young children who attended would get individual guidance and have a chance to tap into their artistic side while also gaining certainty in their academic abilities. This has been a great chapter in the book that is my life.
After having spent 24 years in the field of education, while doing illustration “on the side”, I have finally made the move to work full-time as a freelance artist.
Over the years, while working with publishers, authors, individual clients, and especially with the children at school, I have formulated many of my own stories that I would like to write and illustrate. I hope to show these to you soon!
Yours,
Trish
