I've spent most of my adult life working in engineering, but at the age of 50 or so I decided to try painting. At the time I did this because I thought it might give a creative boost to my photograpy, which I thought was starting to become uninteresting. The painting prospered and the photography rapidly died off. That was about 20 years ago, and I've never looked back.
