Photorealism
As a Research Scientist i found i needed an artistic escape every now and then. That's when i took up photography, and that was 30 years ago! But as a scientist i also liked to try to experiment with my photography as well, whether in the camera, the darkroom or on the computer.
When printing photographs one not only has the opportunity of being creative during the taking of the photograph, but also the ability to modify the image during printing. In the darkroom I created a variety of original styles. Digital photography opens up infinitely more possibilities for post-image collection manipulation, and that excites me.
My work has won awards; “Nature in Action; Booby diving” won the international “Visions of Science and Technology, Action category, 2007” and “Going to market” won the professional category of “Heart of the World” in 2010; also my work has also been published in magazines and the press.
Now that i've taken early retirement i can spend much more time being creative with my photography and more time exhibiting in galleries.
